Roofing on Warwick housing
The town centre inside the old walls rebuilt after the fire of 1694, so the core is Georgian brick and older timber-framed survivors, most of it in the conservation area and much of it listed. Roofs there are plain clay tile or slate on old timbers, with chimneys, valleys and parapets that need proper leadwork, and on a listed building even like-for-like work needs consent from Warwick District Council. Around the core the Victorian villa suburbs at Emscote, Myton and the Cape have steeper slate roofs with decorative ridge tiles, bargeboards and bay window roofs, where the work is slates re-laid with new fixings, ridges rebedded or converted to a dry system, and the timbers checked while the covering is off.
Woodloes Park, built through the seventies and eighties, has concrete tile roofs on trussed rafters that are reaching the end of their life together, and the job there is a re-cover with a breathable membrane, new battens and a dry ridge, or fascias, soffits and guttering where the roof itself is sound. Chase Meadow and the newer estates are too young for re-roofing but not for the first round of flat roof and fascia problems. The villages around Warwick, Barford, Hatton Park and Leek Wootton, bring larger houses with more complex roofs, priced from the specific roof rather than a table.

Had Marcus & the team remove my spray foam last week. They was very professional & left no mess. They replaced my old felt with a new membrane as it was so old & falling apart. I have recommended them to my neighbour. Good service all round.
Carter Langfold spent 5 days last week correcting a mess done by another Company in an attempt to remove spray foam from loft. The team led by Manager Marcus were brilliant throughout the week.
Very pleased with the professionalism & standard of work provided.
Questions
Roofing in Warwick, answered straight
Do I need consent to re-roof in Warwick town centre?
On a listed building, yes, even like for like. In the conservation area, a change of covering can need consent. Repairs rarely do. Warwick District Council confirms it and we check before quoting.
Can you keep the decorative ridge tiles on my Victorian house?
Usually. Original crested ridges can be lifted, cleaned and re-set, and broken ones matched from reclaimed or current ranges. We tell you at the survey what can be saved.
Is my Woodloes Park roof due?
If the tiles are porous, the felt has perished and the loft smells damp in winter, yes, and your neighbours' roofs are likely at the same point. We show you the felt at the survey and tell you whether it is a repair or a re-cover.
