Roofing by Carter Langfold in Alcester

Roofing in Alcester

Alcester is close enough to us that a few slipped tiles get the same attention as a full re-roof.

Roofing on Alcester housing

The centre of Alcester is a compact market town with Roman origins, a conservation area and a mix of timber-framed, Georgian and Victorian buildings on and around the High Street and Henley Street. Roofs there are clay tile and slate on old timbers, and the work is careful: repairs to valleys, flashings and chimneys, tiles re-laid with new fixings, and a change of material checked with Stratford-on-Avon District Council before it is quoted. Because we are only a short run from Redditch, a small repair here is worth doing, which is not true at the far edges of our area.

The estates around the town, Kinwarton, Arrow and the twentieth-century housing to the north and south, have conventional roofs: concrete tile on trussed rafters, fascias and soffits that have reached the end of their life, and garage flat roofs that were felted once and never again. Those get a straightforward survey, a fixed price, and a re-cover with a breathable membrane, new battens and a dry ridge when the roof genuinely needs it, or a repair when it does not. We tell you which.

What we are asked for here

  • Repairs to valleys, flashings and chimneys on period roofs in the centre
  • Clay tile and slate re-laying with new fixings
  • Concrete tile re-covers and fascias on the surrounding estates
  • Garage and extension flat roof replacement

Had Marcus & the team remove my spray foam last week. They was very professional & left no mess. They replaced my old felt with a new membrane as it was so old & falling apart. I have recommended them to my neighbour. Good service all round.

Carter Langfold spent 5 days last week correcting a mess done by another Company in an attempt to remove spray foam from loft. The team led by Manager Marcus were brilliant throughout the week.

Questions

Roofing in Alcester, answered straight

Will you come out for a small roof repair in Alcester?

Yes. Alcester is close enough to Redditch that fascias, guttering or a handful of slipped tiles are worth doing properly, and a small repair done well is often what stops a bigger job later.

Does the conservation area affect my roof?

It can affect materials and whether consent is needed to change the covering. Repairs are rarely a problem. Stratford-on-Avon District Council confirms it for your address.

Can you match the tiles on an estate house?

Usually. Concrete tiles from the sixties onward are still made in the same profiles, and where a colour has gone we show you the nearest current match before you decide.
