Roofing on Droitwich housing
The centre of Droitwich Spa carries the Victorian and Edwardian property built when the town was a resort, and those roofs are slate or clay on original timbers with tall chimney stacks that have been left alone for a century. The work there is roofing in the old sense: valleys and flashings, chimney repointing and capping, slates re-laid with new fixings, and a proper look at the timbers while the covering is off. The town centre conservation area means a change of material is checked with Wychavon District Council before it is quoted.
Around the centre, Westlands, Copcut and the other postwar and modern estates have concrete tile roofs on trussed rafters, and by now a lot of them are at the end of their life together: porous tiles, perished felt, damp lofts. A re-cover with a breathable membrane, new battens and a dry ridge is the answer when both the tiles and the felt are done. Fascias, soffits and guttering are the common smaller job on these estates. We survey both types the same way and tell you whether it is a repair or a replacement.

Had Marcus & the team remove my spray foam last week. They was very professional & left no mess. They replaced my old felt with a new membrane as it was so old & falling apart. I have recommended them to my neighbour. Good service all round.
Carter Langfold spent 5 days last week correcting a mess done by another Company in an attempt to remove spray foam from loft. The team led by Manager Marcus were brilliant throughout the week.
Very pleased with the professionalism & standard of work provided.
Questions
Roofing in Droitwich, answered straight
Does the conservation area affect my roof in Droitwich?
It can affect the covering you are allowed to use if you want to change it. Repairs are rarely a problem. Wychavon District Council confirms it for your address, and we check before we quote.
My chimney has not been touched in decades. Is that a problem?
Often, yes. Tall Victorian stacks lose their pointing and their flashings, and water gets in at the chimney long before the roof itself fails. We look at every chimney at the survey and price the work honestly.
Who handles building control in Droitwich?
Wychavon District Council at present, and we deal with them as part of the job where the work needs it.
